- Tryouts for Spring/Summer 2026= players currently in grades 2nd-8th during the 2025-2026 school year
- Tryouts for Fall/Winter 2026-2027= players currently in grades 1st-7th during the 2025-2026 school year
- TEAM PLACEMENT: Nebraska Attack strives to place players on a team that will provide each and every player the opportunity for maximum playing time in games and the chance to contribute as an impact player on their team as well as continue to grow and develop their skills, knowledge and confidence. Regardless of the team that players are placed on, each and every one of them will have the same opportunities in our practice sessions to improve their fundamental skills in addition to learning and understanding game concepts that are universally important for future participation in basketball.
- PLAYING TIME: We do not promise or guarantee equal playing time in all games….. some players may play more in one game and play less in another. This does not mean that we believe it is just all about winning. We focus on fundamental development and we understand that game-time can be a part of that process but we also strive to instill the values that we believe are instrumental in our athletes future success, both on and off the court. Our mission is to teach our athletes the importance and value of HARD WORK, EFFORT & ENERGY, POSITIVE ATTITUDE, lots of HUSTLE, COMMUNICATION, TEAM
WORK, and what it takes to be SUCCESSFUL. Our coaches will do their absolute best to give all players as much playing time as possible while also giving the team the best opportunity to be as competitive as possible and they will strive to use game-times to teach and instruct their players on the fundamentals of the game as well as the core values that will result in player and team success, now and in the future.
- PARENT EXPECTATIONS: We expect parents to cheer for ALL of the players on your team. Do not coach your athlete from the sideline, let the coaches do the coaching. Do not yell at the officials, just anticipate that there will be calls that we do not agree with and yelling at the refs is not likely to get the call reversed or changed. Do not say anything negative to an opponent or opponent’s coach or opponent’s parents.
- PLAYER EXPECTATIONS: We expect all of our players to give 100% effort and energy every time they step onto the court. We expect them to represent themselves, their teammates and their coaches with the kind of attitude and behavior that is a positive reflection on our program and their character as an individual. We expect them to value this opportunity to be a part of the Attack Family and to play on an Attack Team. We expect them to care about their teammates on and off the court. We expect our players to respect the officials, their opponents, the coaches, their parents, the facilities they are in and the jersey and name they wear.
- GAME DAYS: If you have the opportunity to watch and cheer for other Attack teams during tournament weekends, please do so. Parents/Players should notify their coach as soon as possible if they will not be able to attend a game. All players should arrive at their game-sites at least 30 min before their scheduled game-time unless your coach instructs you differently. Players should be ready to join their teammates for pregame stretches and to focus on prepping for the game 20 min before tip-off.
- MULTI-SPORT ATHLETS: We support multi-sport athletes. We anticipate and understand if fall sports take priority during the fall season (Aug thru Oct) and we realize that some conflicts may result in missing some basketball practices and games during those months. With that said, players will be expected to make basketball their priority when there are conflicts during the basketball season (Nov thru Feb).
POLICY regarding PLAYERS PLAYING on Multiple CLUB TEAMS: There is an alarming trend of youth players who are committing and playing on more than one CLUB team in a season. While other programs appear to be fine with taking your money and letting you play for them in addition to other CLUB teams, Nebraska Attack does NOT believe that this is in the players best interest and will NOT allow players to play on an Attack team if they are also playing on a competing CLUB team during that same season. It is important to note that this policy does not include School Feeder Teams that play during the winter basketball season. Nebraska Attack understands that there are players in our program who like to play with their friends on their school feeder teams while also staying involved at Attack in order to benefit from the fundamental development that we offer and we DO allow players to do that.
